The process for establishing new electric service in Texas has changed, but it takes only a few simple steps to turn
your lights on:
• Choose a provider that offers service in your area.
• Contact your chosen provider to begin your account.
IMPORTANT: Be sure to allow several days for the ordering process so your electricity will be there when you need
it. If you are establishing service for a new home or building, a permit or inspection may be required. If you have any
questions about your new service or bill, call your new electric provider.
